Is it a museum? A pop-art exhibition? A horror show? Mary Shelley’s House of Frankenstein in the centre of Bath is all of these, and more.
It’s also the subject of a new blog post by our senior consultant Andy Weltch, who was invited to write about his recent visit for the Wordsworth Trust’s Romanticism Blog.
The post was published today (1 February) – the anniversary of Mary Shelley’s death in 1851.
Andy describes his experiences on the various floors of the 18th century building:
“Creaking floorboards, disturbing background noise, muffled voices. Were these other visitors on this quiet January morning? Sound effects? Or was something else going on?
“The house makes you uneasy from the start.”
