Congratulations to our friends Torquay United Women, who have progressed to the second round proper of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup for the first time.
Goals from Mia Preston and Ellie Bishop secured a 2-0 win at Warminster Town in the first round yesterday (Sunday 13 November).

Our sponsored player, club captain Danni Wyatt, was on the injury bench, recovering from her knee injury, but was very much involved – running the team’s social media.
“What a day yesterday!” she told us. “We took the game well yesterday – a boggy pitch which we are not used to but we made it work. Some fantastic play from the midfield and a real squad effort saw us take a 2-0 lead and keep a clean sheet for the second time in a row.
“We celebrated Rhi Bailey’s and Laura Lewis’s birthday on Sunday and not forgetting made Torquay United Women’s history. Over the moon!”

Weltch Media first sponsored Danni in the 2017/18 campaign, when she helped Torquay to third place in the South West Women’s Premier League and to the final of the Devon Cup and won the goal of the season award. Last season she helped Torquay to a sensational victory in the Devon FA Cup Final and was named club player of the season.
Danni is due to make her 100th career appearance for the club this season. In 2020, she was among our friends who featured in the popular comedy promo video With a T.
