Cardiff’s historic New Theatre has reopened to the public this week, with the spectacular musical romp Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.
Our companion hyperlocal site Rhiwbina Info was on hand to review the opening night last night (Monday 20th September), describing it as “a high-volume production in every way – a riot of colour and flamboyance, with stunning costumes, energetic choreography, and songs we all love (even if we may not all admit it)”.
The review by our senior consultant Andy Weltch adds: “Beneath the singing and dancing and extravagant costumes, Priscilla is about difference and acceptance. I guarantee you will laugh, and at times you might even cry. Isn’t that the beauty of theatre?”
Priscilla plays at the New Theatre until Saturday (25th), when it moves on to Bristol, Southampton, Manchester, Woking, Bromley, and Glasgow.
