An entertaimning stage show for the family, based on Terry Deary’s hugely successful Horrible Histories books, is now touring the UK.
Our senior consultant Andrew Weltch reviewed the opening night (March 12) of its visit to Cardiff’s New Theatre for our companion hyperlocal site Rhiwbina Info.
Of Terrible Tudors, he writes: “Torture, executions, revolting diseases, and even more revolting cures all help create a very entertainingly unpleasant show, which is also highly educational.”

Birmingham Stage Company’s production of Horrible Histories, including Terrible Tudors and Awful Egyptians continues in Cardiff until Saturday (March 16).
It then tours until November, visiting Stoke, Llandudno, Swindon, Shrewbury, Leicester, Southampton, Worthing, Bradford, Norwich, Canterbury, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Darlington, Wimbledon, Birmingham, Milton Keynes, Sheffield, Bristol, Ipswich, Carlisle, Manchester, Tunbridge Wells, Hertford, Coventry, and Chester.
