Our sponsored player Danni Wyatt scored a first-half hat-trick to help Torquay United Women to a 5-1 pre-season home win over Honiton Town yesterday (Sunday 28 July).
Club captain Danni was also captain on the pitch yesterday, but was susbsituted early in the second half when her foot injury flared up.
“I’m really happy with that result today and super chuffed to be on the scoresheet let alone getting a hatrick,” she told us after the game. 
“The girls were superb in the heat today, we’re still learning and working out how we play to our strengths so today’s result is a really good one”.
Torquay’s other goals came from Adele Brown and Molly Orr-Love, while Abi Breban scored for Honiton.
We first sponsored Danni in the 2017/18 campaign, when she helped Torquay to third place in the league and to the final of the Devon Cup and won the goal of the season award.
In 2022, she helped Torquay to a sensational victory in the Devon FA Cup Final and was named club player of the season.
And back in 2020, she was among our friends who featured in the popular lockdown comedy promo video With a T.
Torquay will be playing in the South West Regional Women’s Football League, at the fifth level of the English pyramid, and looking for promotion back to the FA National League.
Danni told us she’s excited about the new season and the new management team.
