Congratulations to our Kelsey Gentles, who has been named among the athletes selected to be a part of the Women’s Sport Trust ‘Unlocked’ programme for 2022.
Kelsey, who plays rugby league with York City Knights and England, is among 35 elite athletes from 22 sports, who have come together to drive positive change in sport.
The group also includes middle-distance runner and five times British champion Laura Weightman, former England netball captain Pamela Cookey and wheelchair racer and Paralympic medallist Kare Adenegan.
“I feel so incredibly humbled to have been selected alongside some of the best athletes in the world right now,” said Kelsey, who made her Women’s Super League debut in 2018 and has competed in three challenge cup finals.
Kelsey and the rest of the 2022 intake join a community of 76 athletes who have been part of Unlocked since its inception in 2020. The programme brings sportswomen together to tackle the issues they’re passionate about – from addressing visibility and driving more commercial value to increasing diversity and focusing on women’s health.
We are a long-time supporter of Kelsey and this season became her personal sponsor, with support to cover the cost of her boots, training, recovery skins and supplements throughout the season.
Her official club sponsor this season is Trade Cars 4 U.
Kelsey featured in our comedy promo video With a T, which we compiled during the 2020 covid lockdown.
