The Weltch Media racing driver James Holman scored a fifth-place finish in the Irish Digital Motorsport TCR simracing series at Zolder circuit in Belgium last night (Wednesday 23rd June).
James qualified seventh, right behind series leader Naveed Hussain, among the 31-car field for race one, and gained two places during the 10 laps to take the Weltch Media-liveried Audi RS TCR car across the line in fifth.
With the top 15 finishers reversed for the start of the feature race, James started 11th, but he got hit near the start, went into the back of another car and suffered damage, which limited his speed.
He decided to make a pit stop for a repair and rejoined the race 27th. He worked his way through the pack and eventually finished a creditable 19th.

James competes in Legends Car racing in real-life, but with the Irish Championship (as well as many other series around the world) disrupted by the pandemic, he has been focusing on sim (simulated online) racing.
Next week, the TCR series moves to Hockenheim (Germany) for the final round.
Last year, James competed in a hotly contested international Legends Car sim racing series, based in Scandinavia and featuring drivers from around the world.
