“Very helpful”, “very comprehensive”, and a “really great session”. Those were some of the comments after our latest copywriting training at Loughborough University this week (4 May).
We’ve been sharing our experience and advice with marketing officers at the award-winning university after the web and digital team asked us to run a series of online half-day courses.
Their invitation followed a highly praised course which we ran last year for City, University of London last year, building on our experience of our major copywriting projects for universities, including Swansea, Southampton, Cardiff, and City.
The first session was at the end of March and the next two were in April. This week’s concluded the series, which has involved nearly 50 members of the marketing team.
The sessions, run by senior consultant Andy Weltch and writer Mark Hawkins, covered: getting started; approaching your writing project; writing for different audiences; writing persuasively; and avoiding common mistakes.
Delegates thanked us with comments like “Really great session, thank you!” and described it as “very helpful” and “very comprehensive”.
Loughborough has been named the best university in the world for sports-related subjects for the sixth year running by the global QS higher education league table, based on its reputation in academia and industry, as well as its research impact.
It was University of the Year at the WhatUni? Student Choice Awards in 2020, 2018, and 2015. It has also been University of the Year in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide twice.
