The UK tour of classic stage thriller, Dial M For Murder – much delayed and disrupted by the pandemic – arrived in Cardiff this week.
And it was worth the wait, according to our companion hyperlocal news site, Rhiwbina Info, which was there to review the opening night on Tuesday (2 November).
Reviewer Andy Weltch, our senior consultant, writes: “This is an intriguing story and a thoroughly entertaining production, which is beautiful to look at and will have you gripped until the end”.
Famous for its 1954 Hitchcock film version, this production is set in the 1960s. It follows ex-tennis champion Tony Wendice’s (Tom Chambers) plan to commit the perfect murder and inherit his wife’s (Diana Vickers) fortune.
But things don’t go to plan …
Dial M For Murder plays at the New Theatre, Cardiff, until Saturday (6 November), when it moves on to Southend, Salford, and Malvern.
