Danni’s Torquay moves to second in league table

Congratulations to our sponsored player Danni Wyatt and her Torquay United Women teammates, who moved to second place in the South West Premier League after a 2-1 victory in Gloucester over a determined Forest Green Rovers yesterday (Sunday 25 September).

Torquay fought back from 1-0 down, with goals from Tracey Cross and a former Weltch Media-sponsored player, Daisy Self.

Danni, who went off after 40 minutes with her knee injury playing up, said: “It was a fantastic result against a strong Forest Green side. Last season we drew to them in our away fixture but this time round we take all three points home from Gloucester!

“We go to second in the league table and we look forward to our FA Cup tie next weekend. Up the Yellows!”

Weltch Media first sponsored Danni in the 2017/18 campaign, when she helped Torquay to third place in the South West Women’s Premier League and to the final of the Devon Cup and won the goal of the season award. Last season she helped Torquay to a sensational victory in the Devon FA Cup Final and was named club player of the season.

Danni is due to make her 100th career appearance for the club this season.
