Our sponsored player Danni Wyatt is full of confidence after Torquay United Women’s two pre-season games against Plymouth Argyle teams over the past three days.
On Sunday, Torquay lost 5-0 to Plymouth’s first team and last night (Tuesday 13 August) won 6-1 against Argyle’s post-16s. 
Club captain Danni said: “On Sunday, we experimented with how we could play against a team two tiers above us in the FA Southern Premier. Pre-season is about testing yourself so it wasn’t a negative take but rather a few fixes we need to make.
“Last night was very different, of course – we produced some great passages of play, played nice, neat football and put away our chances.
“The team, is getting strong, and the new management team has great ideas and has brought some great players in”.
Danni is currently nursing a foot injury, which is limiting her playing time. “It is being managed and treated well,” she said. “So I can keep playing and get it better”.
We first sponsored Danni in the 2017/18 campaign, when she helped Torquay to third place in the league and to the final of the Devon Cup and won the goal of the season award.
In 2022, she helped Torquay to a sensational victory in the Devon FA Cup Final and was named club player of the season.

Torquay will be playing in the South West Regional Women’s Football League, at the fifth level of the English pyramid, and looking for promotion back to the FA National League.
