Introducing Weltch Media
Former journalist and award-winning editor, Andy Weltch, founded Weltch Media in 2005. Based in Cardiff, Wales, we provide our range of communications services to organisations of all sizes, as well as to individuals around the UK and overseas.

Andy Weltch Senior Consultant
A former newspaper journalist, Andy won national awards for his work in corporate communications and in higher education. He manages most of our projects, providing leadership and hands-on expertise in editorial services, public relations, and training. He has written books and produced films. His interests include sport, film, theatre, and running (slowly). He is also concerned with housing and homelessness and was a voluntary trustee at the people and homes charity Shelter Cymru for many years.

Mariclare Carey-Jones Broadcast & Training Consultant
Mariclare is a talented presenter and broadcast journalist, who has travelled the world filming television and radio shows for ITV, BBC and Made Television.
Her great passions are wildlife and rural affairs, and she can currently be heard presenting Radio 4’s ‘Farming Today’ programme and ‘Country Focus’ on BBC Radio Wales.
Mariclare also has a proven track record in news and current affairs programmes and has won awards for her documentary films.
Mariclare regularly uses her expertise as a presenter and broadcast journalist to give our clients the confidence to take part in media interviews and to perform at public events. Her media training sessions in association with Weltch Media are very popular.

Mark Hawkins Writer and Photographer
Mark has been a freelance writer and photographer since 2009.
Trading as Composed Communication and Composed Images, he has worked with universities and colleges, start-up technology businesses, recruitment consultancies and trade associations.
He has been a key part of Weltch Media’s team on a range of work including large-scale writing projects for universities and other clients.
His street photography book ‘Canton & Pontcanna’ was published by the History Press in 2018.

Sophie Platt Communications Assistant
Sophie provides support across a range of public relations and communications services and is an editor on our associate hyperlocal site Rhiwbina Info.
She graduated from Cardiff University in 2020 with a degree in Media and Communications. Her interests include the creative arts industry and film, and she is passionate about animals.
