The acclaimed Middle Ground Theatre Company’s production of Agatha Christie’s A Murder is Announced is continuing to captivate audiences around the UK.
Our senior consultant Andrew Weltch reviewed the opening night of its week in Cardiff (February 11) for our companion hyperlocal site, Rhiwbina Info, describing it as “classic Christie, presented in the classic style – an absolutely top-notch, head-scratching puzzle of a mystery, expertly staged and brilliantly performed”.
It stars Sarah Thomas as Miss Marple, Barbara Wilshere as Letitia Wilshere, and Tom Butcher as Inspector Craddock, with an excellent supporting cast – notably a brilliant comic performance by Lydia Piechowiak as Mitzi the maid.
A Murder is Announced plays at Cardiff’s New Theatre until Saturday before moving on to Basingstoke’s Haymarket Theatre February 25. It then visits Eastbourne, Nottingham, Ipswich, Woking, Edinburgh, and New Brighton.
