Congratulations to our sponsored player Danni Wyatt, who helped Torquay United Women to a 12-0 win at Poole Town yesterday (Sunday 9 February).
Returning from injury, club captain Danni came off the bench in the second half and scored one of the goals in a decisive win that keeps Torquay in contention for the South West Women’s Regional League Premier Division title.
“I had a good feeling about this game today,” Danni told us. “Off the back of a good training session, I felt a bit more settled heading into today. 
“It’s been a tough few months pushing for fitness and sharpness back on the ball, but I feel like I’m getting there and super enjoying being back in the fold with such a wonderful group of players.
“The game was put to bed by the time I entered the field of play, so Lee gave me the opportunity to go on and be myself and get some minutes in my legs. Feels really good to be back and fighting fit!”
Scorers were: Ellie Bishop (4), Lucy Solloway(3), Tee Kaptein, Adele Brown, Tracey Cross, Danni, and Emily Elliott.
Torquay remain second in the table, behind Marine Academy Plymouth, but with games in hand.
In 2022, she helped Torquay to a sensational victory in the Devon FA Cup Final and was named club player of the season.
