The Weltch Media logo is back on the race track this week – we’re supporting two three-car teams in the Backfire Simsport TCR Challenge Cup, a high-level sim-racing series which takes touring cars to some of the world’s greatest circuits.
The main RD race team includes our long-time friend and associate James Holman, who is competing in the Pro category alongside Greg Daffron, and Martin Shirley in the Pro-Am category. Greg is in a Hyundai Veloster, while James and Martin will drive Honda Civics.
The RD second team involves team founder Rob Sutherland and Rob Jackson in the Am class, with California-based Daniel Mills in the Pro category. The first team cars are pink and the second team in blue.
“Our main aim is to win the teams championship and hoping for the overall drivers championship,” said James, whose real-life Legends Car racing is temporarily on hold. “It will be tough as there are some of the fastest touring car drivers on the platform, but with such a strong team in depth, hopefully we can get our setups and strategies perfected”.
The series opens at Road America, tomorrow (Wednesday 18 December), and goes on to involve tracks like Daytona, Thruxton, and Barcelona.
