As the 2024 speedway season ends in Britain, TV and radio presenter Jason Harrold has reflected on the state of the sport.
In a special blog post for Weltch Media, Jason discusses the sport’s steady decline here, with tracks closing and less high-profile media coverage.
But he also highlights some reasons for optimism – some tracks are thriving, there are new venues and new ways to watch the sport, including the new British Speedway Network streaming service.
And internationally, Great Britain is the world team champion and has two riders in the world top four.
Perhaps British speedway isn’t in such a steep decline after all?
