Our sponsored player Kelsey Gentles opened the scoring for York City Knights Ladies to set up a hard-fought victory over Wigan Warriors in the Women’s Super League last night (Monday 19th July).
The game, played in the heat of Bradford’s historic Odsal Stadium, was crucial to keep alive York’s hopes of a top-four finish.
Kelsey’s try came after just six minutes, and Emma Hardy converted to give Knights an early 6-0 lead.
It was 6-4 at half-time, and the only score of the second half was a try by Emma, which she converted, to make it 12-4.
“That was a great win tonight in hard conditions,” said Kelsey. “I was pleased with the try too.”
