Our Weltch Media racing driver James Holman finished second and fourth in last night’s races at Hockenheim to secure fourth place in the Irish Digital Motorsport TCR championship.
James was second fastest in qualifying for this final round of the season, and followed home the leader (and eventual champion) Naveed Hussain to take runner-up spot, just half a second behind.
In the all-important feature race, the partially reversed grid meant he started 14th, but worked his way up to fourth, finishing behind race winner Josh Malin, Fabrizio Ravera, and Dan Mould, after a desperate last-lap dive to try for third place.
Afterwards, James said: “Well I tried for P3 in the championship! It was tough, I wanted that win in race 1 but it was just a fraction out of reach. Had to be patient in race 2, nearly got third on the last lap but couldn’t quite do it!”

James competes in Legends Car racing in real-life, but with the Irish Championship (as well as many other series around the world) disrupted by the pandemic, he has been focusing on sim (simulated online) racing.
Last year, James competed in a hotly contested international Legends Car sim racing series, based in Scandinavia and featuring drivers from around the world.
