Weltch Media’s partnership with Torquay United Ladies FC has been extended – we are now player sponsor for the club’s dynamic midfielder, Daisy Self for the rest of the 2017-18 season.
Daisy is also the club physio, and scored both goals in Sunday’s (November 19) 2-0 Devon Cup win at Exeter City.
Having previously played for Plymouth, Alphington and Feniton, Daisy is Torquay’s second highest scorer so far this season.
The 23-year-old is also co-owner of The Movement, which encompasses sports therapy and strength & conditioning to optimise human performance, using the latest scientific research with a holistic approach. The Movement is based at Crossfit Pi strength and conditioning centre at Woodbury, Exeter.
Daisy said: “The season has got off to a great start for the club and for me personally. TULFC have enabled me to play in a central role that really suits my style of play alongside my best friends and very talented individuals – getting this support from Weltch Media is a real bonus.”
TULFC manager Vicki Fannon added: “We were delighted when Weltch Media came on board in the summer, and I’m really pleased they’re extending their support to Daisy. It means a lot to us to have the support of all kinds of businesses, and having an award-winning communications agency in our family is a great help in raising our profile.”
Sport is one of Weltch Media’s specialist areas, and we have worked with clients in golf and motor sport in the South West, as well as cricket, tennis, swimming and athletics in other areas.
“It’s a genuine thrill for us be part of the team at Torquay,” said Weltch Media senior consultant (and lifelong Torquay United supporter!), Andrew Weltch.
“These young women are so dedicated, enthusiastic and talented – they’re a real credit to the Torquay United name.
“Daisy is a popular and inspirational figure in the team – the sort of player who makes things happen, and I’m really pleased we can support her in this way.”
At the start of the season, Weltch Media was sponsoring Jana Kate Richards, but she has now left the club.
TULFC still has sponsorship opportunities available, including player sponsorships. Details are available from the club.
